Hi,
We have connected an HXC emulator to a PPG Waveterm A and booted from it. I did have
to add a little circuitry between the cable and the HXC to buffer some signals, but it's very simple.
We are having a strange problem. Both drive selects are connected to the HXC and we are trying
to emulate both Waveterm 8" drives. We downloaded a bunch of floppy images to the SD card.
Somehow when we change the floppy image that is selected for the second drive, it also changes
the selection for the first drive, which should always be the boot disk. Our HXC was purchased
in June or July. Not sure exactly which code is in the PIC chip. Seems like we are simply using the
GUI wrong, but we have checked the operating guides over and over and can't see our mistake.
We can see which drive is being accessed on the LCD screen. I think that is all working.
Anyone else using two-floppy mode?
Thanks, Bob

Re: PPG Waveterm A HXC floppy emulation
Which switch/jumper setting are you using ?
Re: PPG Waveterm A HXC floppy emulation
Hi Jeff,
We are using HXC Rev F. It was purchased from Lotharek.
This one has a single 8-pos DIP sw on it, and we have closed ID0A and ID1B
switches. I don't see any other jumpers.
I think I read somewhere about a hidden menu that I can call up to enable
two-drive mode. I need to find that info again and try it. We are able to switch
drives, it seems, so maybe we are already in "two drive" mode. Not sure.
It seems to emulate the one drive nicely, so if we can just get it to use the drive
selects to emulate two drives, we'll be all done.
I put all of the drive image files in the same directory on the SD card.
That seemed like the correct way to do it.

Yes it is.rlg42 wrote: so maybe we are already in "two drive" mode. Not sure.
Select the first image for the drive A, then make a long press of the central/select button, choose "change drive" then "drive b" and finally select the image for the drive B.rlg42 wrote: It seems to emulate the one drive nicely, so if we can just get it to use the drive

other solution :
use the indexed mode with the DSKAXXXX.HFE and DSKBXXXX.HFE file naming convention. ("XXXX" is the index number).

@rlg42
I also have a Waveterm A (with 5.25 drives).
I'm interested in your installation of a HxC in your Waveterm A.
I would like to discuss with you about the WT and Wave.
You can send me a PM (there isn't option to contact you in your profile).
Thanks!
