Ensoniq VFX SD set up problems HXC Gotek Flash Drive

Hello Everyone,

Have been trying without success to install files needed on USB Flash Drive, for HXC Gotek STM32F105.

Have Bootloader set up and Firmware HxCFEUSB_V5_2_3_1a.UPD installed in Normal Mode.

Gotek has OLED Screen, Rotary Dial - Piezo and Jumper is on S0 - There everything comes to a halt.

Sadly, my knowledge is not good with this and have read that much, I am going round in circles and feel useless.

So - I am reaching out to someone who would kindly be able to point me in the right direction.

1) Can files be in directories or does everything have to be in root directory.

2) Is Normal Mode suitable for a VFX SD or does it need to be Indexed

3) The files on the flash drive are:

DSK0000_OS210.hfe
DSKA0001.hfe
Ensoniq VFX SD.fpf
EPSBLANK_003_STOCK2.img
HXCSDFE,CFG

All are in the root directory - Can Folders be set up: EG for Blank Disks or HFE or IMG Files.

Have also heard about and seen FF.CFG - Should this be used instead of HXCSDFE.CFG

If the dial is turned it goes through the file list, if I select it shows .. then 00-80 for example on Stock2 Image, but can access nothing.

Am getting nowhere, all the set up menus show and can make changes to Gotek, but nothing works with files on flash drive, have spent 50 hours trying to sort it and am on verge of giving up, out of frustration.

Is there someone willing to help a Novice with this - Please.

You can use directories.

Normal mode is fine.

3) The files on the flash drive are:

To be sure remove everything from your usb stick and unpack the files from this archive to the usb stick folder :

SDHxCFE_Ensoniq_VFX_SD.7z

Rename "HXCSDFE.CFG-normal" to "HXCSDFE.CFG"

To boot the machine you need to select the DSKA0000.HFE on the emulator.

Let me know if you have any issue.

Another point to check : the gotek led activity when you try to read something ? Is the floppy ribbon connected correctly ?
