I tried every options in Menu 1 and have some interesting behaviour :

Menu 1 - Interface mode

00 = AUTO (DEFAULT) ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

01 = IBM PC DD ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

02 = IBM PC HD ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

03 = ATARI ST DD ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

04 = ATARI ST HD ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

05 = AMIGA DD --->('0 0 0' on the Gotek - The keyboard screen ask to format the USB-Stick and i got an ERROR ER1 when i validate with "Yes" the formating - USB-Stick is blinking)

06 = AMIGA HD --->('0 0 0' on the Gotek - The keyboard screen ask to format the USB-Stick and i got an ERROR ER2 when i validate with "Yes" the formating - USB-Stick is blinking)

07 = CPC DD ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

08 = GENERIC SHUGART DD ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

09 = IBMPC ED --->('0 0 0' on the Gotek - The keyboard screen ask to format the USB-Stick and i got an ERROR ER2 when i validate with "Yes" the formating - USB-Stick is blinking)

0A = MSX2 DD ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

0B = C64 DD ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

0C = EMU SHUGART ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

0D = S950 DD ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

0E = S950 HD ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

0F = S900/S950 (Density Auto) ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

10 = PC DD/HD (Density Auto) ---> no reaction ('0 0 0' on the Gotek - no reaction from keyboard screen - USB-Stick is blinking)

I was able to reproduce the errors each time in mode 5, 6 and 9.

In the keyboard's manual, I found this:
Error code Er1 : Disk read or write error (e.g. unformatted disk)
Error code Er2 : Disk write-protected

The USB Stick ist formated as FAT using "HxCFloppyEmulator_DosDiskBrowser" and an DSKA0000.HFE image.

Try this :

https://hxc2001.com/custom_fw/

Set "Non gated mode" and request a new firmware. Once received update your gotek.

Ok thanks @Jeff, I went on this website, let every default values as they are and just checked "Non gated mode" and ordered the firmware.

Keep you posted on the process.

Ok, so I just received the firmware, flashed it on the GOTEK.

There is now a new behaviour from the GOTEK and the keyboard: when I power up the keyboard with USB-Stick (with a floppy image on it), i have this sequence:
- hXc on the GOTEK and the USB-Stick light is not blinking anymore, that mean that the GOTEK is "reading" something
- the GOTEK display "0 0 0" (as usual)
- the keybard screen is empty/black (as usual)
- the keyboard screen display "For" for "Format", for a fraction of second (I was able to read it by filming it in slow motion with my phone). :idea: this is new
- the keyboard screen is empty/black again and the USB-Stick is now flashing (as usual)

I tried to use the Format-Button on the keyboard but I don't have any feedback.

Hello @Jeff

I'm here again, with latest firmware 5.0.0.7a on CVP-55.

I have USB pendrive whit shugart HXCSDFE.CFG file that you upload for me on 2019. It doesn't works well, because when I power up Clavinova with pendrive inserted (of I insert it with Clavinova powered up) it doesn't charge the latest disk selected. I have to move one disk down or up to get it to work.

What it's the best configuration for Clavinova CVP-55/65/75 series? Can you explain it via CFG file or directly hardware selection options?

Thanks a lot!

Try to generate a new firmware with the "Non gated mode" option enabled :

https://hxc2001.com/custom_fw/

you may also need to try both S0 and S1 jumper settings.

I made it, but same issue.
I think we had this issue long time ago, lately was fixed, and now it comes again.
Can I do something more to fix it?
Thanks!

EDIT - SOLVED!!!

I downgraded to HxCFEUSB_V3_3_8_14a.UPD that you made for Clavinova after a lot of test, I put it on USB HXCSDFE.CFG custom file that you sended me on 2019. All working again. Then update to 5.0.1.1a and works like a charm!
Very happy!

ok try this one :
https://hxc2001.com/floppy_drive_emulat ... fe_img.hfe

Two things :
>There are a bug somewhere in the dump tool, the bitrate of the HFE file was wrong. i will correct this.

>The shugard setting must be selected before converting files to HFE. (the interface mode are set into the floppy file image)
The files you send me are in PC 720k mode.
Change the setting to shugart mode, reload the hfe file and reexport into hfe. This will correct the setting.
HELLO!!! I RE OPEN THIS POST!!!!!

I am try to replace a emulator of the psr6700, the compatibility list say
1991
Shugart
Should be Ok!

I'll tell you my progress.

1.- Use a jumper on S0/S1.
2.- Use Emulation mode from USB stick partitions, with 4-drive image, created with rufus, MBR
mbr_usb_stick_4_720K.zip
3.- Install and it doesn't load, it doesn't even detect the insertion of the disks.
4.- I came to this post, I loaded a custom firmware
with generic shugart, and Non gated mode
5.- I updated the emulator and put the flash and it doesn't react, the screen shows 0.0.0 it's a m44-fu.
6.- I put the jumpers in m0,s1 position.
I try to read and it doesn't work with the usb with the partitions.
7.- change to Emulation mode from images https://hxc2001.com/floppy_drive_emulat ... fe_img.hfe
the keyboard reads the floppy and the emulator displays NOR on the screen
the keyboard now detects the floppy and asks to format, the process ends, I send the creator files from the Yamaha keyboard and the process is ok.
8.- I turn off the keyboard and repeat the process of reading the saved files and it works without problems
9.- I use the DosDiskBrowser.exe program
I open the image https://hxc2001.com/floppy_drive_emulat ... fe_img.hfe but already formatted by the Yamaha keyboard and the exported file and I recover the file MUESTRA1.U00 I save it on the desktop
10.- Now, I create a new formatted file from the file
https://hxc2001.com/floppy_drive_emulat ... fe_img.hfe
I format it on the Yamaha keyboard, just like we did in the previous step but I don't write anything in it, I open the image with DosDiskBrowser.exe
I try to write the file that I got from step 9 and the following appears message
Cannot create /MUESTRA1.U00 !!!
and I can't write any file.

If anyone knows how to solve this problem, thanks

you need to fix this first :

Thanks for your response,
place the file in the root directory of the pendrive, I put "12Yamaha style1_hfe_img_hfe.hfe" the downloaded file in this post.

the psr6700 keyboard reads the file, the keyboard light in use turns on, then I try to read the disk from the keyboard and it asks me to format.
finishes the process without problem.
Then I write music on the pendrive and it does it without a problem.
disk explorer opens the file I used and I can recover what I recorded from the keyboard. But I can't write to the HFE file that's the problem.

You have no space free in this image. That's why you can't add files.

That's what I don't understand, I write a file with the keyboard in the image of the HFE diskette, I take it to the PC and open it with the explorer and I see the file (SAMPLE1.U00), I copy it to the PC, I delete the file in the hfe image, and I try to write the same file to the image from explorer and it comes out with no space, no matter what I do, it still says no space.

I attach the image that is formatted on the keyboard and with a file that I exported from the keyboard.
But I have no idea how to use it to send a midi for example.
