Hello, I'm new here in the forum, but I've read a lot here in the last few weeks and got some helpful information about equipping my "new" Emax with a floppy emulator and HxC, which is also going well at the moment.
Now I have a question and I hope that someone here can help: In addition to the Gotek floppy emulator, I would also like to run a 3.5" slim floppy drive in my Emax, between which I would like to switch. So I can use the hundreds of floppies I´ve got with my Emax without converting them to HxC, but also use and expand my new build library on the floppy-emulator. I´m a little bit into electronics and soldering, but I´m not into computer things. After I looked at the shugart pin-out I wondered, if I have to make all the wires in the data line and the power supply switchablem, or would it be sufficient to just switch the "Device Select 0"-Signal (PIN 10 on the shugart drive) between the floppy-drive and the floppy-emulator and have all the other connections of both drives permanently in parallel? Maybe someone has done something like that on his/her Emax?
Best regards from germany
Heiko
Use of Floppy-Emulator and Floppy-Drive switchable?
Re: Use of Floppy-Emulator and Floppy-Drive switchable?
yes you can redirect the DS0 signal to the drive or the floppy emulator with a simple switch.

Thank you, Jeff. I will try it … Regards
