I have been trying to make my HxC2001 work with the Chipmunk, which is a SSDD 80 Track 3.5" FDD yielding about 360K.
With a Sector ID Start of 1 I could create a blank disk HFE and format and verify the disk. However I have also made a Kryoflux image of a utilities disk which came with the Chipmunk and I could not read this image at all i.e. no directory listing, only vague errors.
I then changed to a Sector ID Start of 0. With this setting I could read the directory of the utilities image without issue. It also appears that that I can also copy additional files to this image and read them back. Reading the original files is however an issue, which could in fact be corruption copied when imaging the 27 year old floppy disk.
While I can read the disk, and write files, with a new blank disk image and a Sector ID Start of 0 I cannot format an empty disk with the same setting. It appears to format, however a second verify pass takes about 20 seconds or more per track whereas it took a couple of seconds with the original Sector ID Start setting of 1.
I have also tried GAP3 lengths of 30, 50 and 0, with no obvious change.
I have just noticed that the HxC Track Analyzer reports: ISOIBM_MFM_ENCODING while I have the Track Type set to MFM for exporting HFE images. My thinking was that the IBM PC barely existed in 1983 when the Chipmunk was released. I will however test an IBM MFM format HFE image next.
My HxC2001 Firmware is Ver 1.7.2.0 and my HxCFloppyEmulator is Ver 2.5.6.6 (59).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have just tried IBM MFM. There is no improvement.

Solved by email.
Before converting KF raw to HFE for the SD HxC please remove all the garbage (unformatted extra tracks and side + fix the whole disk to a DD bitrate (250000)).

I had tried this in OS X Finder i.e. manually deleting files, however the image does not work.
I will try once more with the Track Analyzer Edit Tools.

Okay, I have now had a chance to replicate your method:
1. Dragged raw track 0 to app.
2. Opened Track Analyzer tool
3. Deleted tracks 80 through 83
4. Deleted Side 1.
5. Bitrate was already set to 250000
6. Closed Track Analyzer
7. Exported HFE
The resulting image could not be read. However, the image you created with this method continues to be fine.
I am using the latest version of your Mac app while my HxC2001 has the original 2011 firmware, coukd this cause an issue?

If the image i sent to you is working, no this is not the cause.IBMPortablePC wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 10:14 am I am using the latest version of your Mac app while my HxC2001 has the original 2011 firmware, coukd this cause an issue?
Please use the disk/track viewer to compare both images.

Please use the disk/track viewer to compare both images.
1. Deleted tracks 80-83
2. Deleted Side 1
3. Set Disk to 250,000 bS
The image then loaded.
Thank you!
