HxC Gotek and Sharp Mz-80b
HxC Gotek and Sharp Mz-80b
Hello!
I have a Sharp MZ-80b and Gotek with HxC firmware. I cannot get this to work. I have the correct CFG file on the SD card (normal mode) and I created a HFE image. Is there an additional config file I need to add for the Sharp? Image mounts in the Gotek but the unit does not respond when I choose the Floppy option from my Sharp Boot menu.

Re: HxC Gotek and Sharp Mz-80b
Can you share the files you are using ?
Is the jumper set to S0 ?
Re: HxC Gotek and Sharp Mz-80b
Hello and thanks for the help. Yes S0 jumper is closed. S1 and Motor are open.
On the SD Card I have the HXCSDFE.cfg for normal use and a selection of HFE images I converted.
Attached is what is supposed to be a bootable cp/m disk.
Do I need to put any other config files on the SD card? Sorry, a bit new at this.
The Sharp seeks out on the Gotek (green light comes on) but the image is not loaded. Its as if it's looking and seeing nothing compatible.

Re: HxC Gotek and Sharp Mz-80b
I have converted some images :
https://hxc2001.com/vrac/MZ80B.zip
Please note that the DSK files are supported by the firmware and should work without conversion too.

Thank you for the file. Same result sadly. Green light comes out as the computer seeks and then goes out after 2 seconds.

I have attached the pinouts for the MZ-80B card. If you have any suggestions then please let me now. I did not see a ready signal on the sharp end.

Re: HxC Gotek and Sharp Mz-80b
This makes the activity light stay on as the Sharp tries to access the drive on request but it's still not loading the drive image. Feel we are getting closer though. Do you think we need a motor on connection?
EDIT: Never Mind. I connected Motor on and we are right back to seeking then returning to the main boot menu
