This is just not possible... Have you copied the cfg file from the zip file ? Have you formatted the USB in FAT32 ? Can you retry with a different usb stick ?

EDIT : Just tried the e6400_test2.zip here : no issue.
Please note that the files need to be in the usb stick root folder.

I placed the zip into the USB and unpacked it there then removed the zip. Yes the USB is formatted to FAT32 and no, it's the only USB stick I have unfortunately.

I followed your instructions and that was the result 😟

First attempt - Mounting failed "Floppy FIFO overrun"

Second attempt - same ^^^

Why? Because you said to "The CFG and HFE need to be in the root folder."?? You didn't specify, mate.
So I used the last ones you sent.

Please be more specific ☺️

Here is what i "said" :
Jeff wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 5:13 pm Now try to save something on these images (remove all others files the stick).

e6400_test2.zip
So remove all others files from the usb stick and unpack the files from this zip to the usb stick root folder.

If you still have "Nor" after this, please try to reformat the USB stick in FAT32 and copy again the files present in e6400_test2.zip . And if this still doesn't work please try another usb stick.

This archive ! :
download/file.php?id=1621

1. This archive ! : (Downloaded)
2. Put on USB stick ( Which is clean and formatted not FAT32) to root
3. Turned on Emu
4. Gotek displays "000"
5. Format attempt - successful
6. Saving sample to Bank000 - successful
7. Restarted Emu
8. Load sample ".E4B" format
9. Load successful
10. Saving 2nd sample to Bank001 - "Device is full"
11. Rotated gotek to 001
11. 2d attempt to save 2nd sample to Bank001 - successful!!

Able to load and save both samples and play back in DAW.

So every Sample saved is a digit (000, 001, 002, 003....), (DSKA001, 02, 03, etc)?
How do I create multiple Disk images for USB?

Also,

Is there any possible way to speed up the loading? It took 3 minutes and 10 seconds to load a 2.7 seconds sample.

Grateful for the progress made ☺

Just duplicate the provided files and name them DSKA0003.IMG, DSKA0004.IMG, DSKA0004.IMG,...)

What was the normal floppy speed for the 2.7 seconds sample ? If this was faster, this should be possible to adjust some parameters to speed up the read.
If this was the same, the loading is then limited by the floppy interface.

Floppy speed is a staggering 34 seconds to save and 33 seconds to load, compared. Haha
Even when going into the disk menu is slow compared to the floppy drive.

I also have a lot of floppies that need converting to image. Do I use the IPF Converter?
Just waiting on ide to sata adapter

Someone gave me some sounds to test from their Emu ESI 2000 machine. Their files arem DSKA****.hfe
Could I swap them also?

Update.

So just been playing with Emu and came across an issue or 2.

1. Recorded new sample
2. Rotated to new bank *002* (example)
3. Went to export sample
4. "Device full"
5. Checked bank and was empty * no folders/ samples exist"

1. Recorded new long sample of 11 second baseline
2. Rotated to empty bank *010*
3. Export
4. Asked for second disk
5. Rotated to bank *011*
6. *No floppy drive*

☺☺☺

Ok then lets restart from the beginning.

Remove all files from your stick.
Unpack the files from the attached zip file.

- format each images ! (none are formatted).
- Post back them here !
- Try to save multi disk sample.

Note : wait 4 seconds before accessing the disk after changing the disk number, the auto select delay may be the issue.

Regarding the read speed this is probably a gap3 parameter setting issue. i will check this and come back to you with something to try.

Just tested now and the speed is a lot better.
Recorded new sample (the 2.7 previous)... 0:40s/ From boot (Emu) 0:28s
Recorded new long sample (5.5). 1:02s/ From boot (Emu) 0:54

Happy with them speeds mate πŸ‘Œ

I was aware of waiting a few seconds for it to switch over. Had seen online πŸ˜‚
I'm pretty sure that within a bank, you store more than one sound? If so I guess it doesn't matter really in regards to multiple images πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Will be a loooong night one night ha.

Next is my old floppies πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚
