Sequential Circuits Prophet 3000

Post by sbmayer99 »

Hi Jeff.

I've got two Sequential Circuits Prophet 3000 samplers that I would like to set up with HxC drives. I already own several HxC drives for other samplers I have, but this is the first one that is unsupported. Is it possible for you to add support for the Prophet 3000? If so, I assume I need to send you some boot disks and formatted disks, but I don't know the exact procedure. Please let me know required steps and I'll be happy to provide what's needed.

Thanks in advance.

Steve

You need to make some dumps of your disks :

https://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_driv ... al_ENG.pdf
Page 14 : "How to make a disk image from a floppy disk ?"

Once done please share them, i will check.

Then you need to set the right interface mode (probably shugart or PC...) and the right switch setting.
For this i need know the floppy drive brand & model + a picture of its jumper block.

Hi Jeff.

I'm not sure I'm doing this right, but I made two versions of a dump I made from a Prophet 3000 OS disk. I've attached an .img to this post.

Perfect. You have now to copy this HFE to the sd, and plug the HxC to the Sequential Circuits Prophet 3000.

Hi Jeff.

I pulled out the floppy drive to check the model and get a picture of the pin block.

Model #
ye-data 701 6031

Here is a link to a web picture and a bit of info:

Here's a link to pictures I took of the drive AND the pinblock:

I hope you can figure out the right interface mode and switch setting from this info.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Jeff-

Just a quick bump to remind you that I need instructions for setting the interface mode and switch settings to move forward on this. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks,
Steve

Switch setting : ID0-A.

Interface config : Try IBM PC 1440, shugart or IBM PC 720.
(for this remove the sd, press select -> choose interface cfg)
