Hi all,
I have just picked up a CPC 464 with an external disk drive (thinking I could install the HxC inside)
The drive never came with the connector to the external drive so I am on the look out for that. I opened the drive and the ribbon head was shorter, what am I gonna do?
My question is, do I need a ribbon from the CPC straight to the the HxC or do I get a ribbon for the disk drive unit and do something different inside that unit?
confused!

Re: Amstrad CPC 464
The 464 doesn't have a floppy controller inside, so you have to use the DDI-1 unit which provides the floppy controller and disk ROM. It's the box on the left on this picture :
The cable getting out of this box is a standard floppy cable. Inside the floppy drive (called FD-1) you get the smaller Amstrad connector, which is almost the same so you can create an adapter like for internal 6128/664 installation. Good luck !
