Hello again everyone and hello Jeff:
Well been a long time since my last post ... things of life. I have been father and I have not had much time lately.
Now I'm on vacation a week and want to try the emulator on my amstrad6128.
A year ago I built a plate (USB HxC Floppy Emulator) with information that can be downloaded from the site. This board cost me much money because it was only one.
Then bought all the components ... more money.
Now everything is set and I think the board is malfunctioning.
Let me explain this a little better ...
When I connect the motherboard to the USB port of my computer goes on ALL THE TIME Leds diodes D1 and D4.
I configure the drive as "drive 1" (rear connector) and the Amstrad puts the screen the following message ... "Drive A: Disk missing."

Please Jeff, can you help me?
Thanks and best regards.

P.D:
SDCard The new board is very impressive, congratulations.

Please tell me what says the "USB HxC Floppy Emulator status" window in the software when the emulator is plugged

Problem with LED D4

Post by izham_gb94 »

Hello again Jeff, thanks for your attention:

Indeed, thanks to your software HxCFloppyEmulator 1.3.9.0 "(actually in your software is the 1.3.9.1 version, if you want you can correct this small error on your website) in the Status option, I have a message ... "HxC Floppy Emulator USB not detected! ". I think it might have a problem with a tin solder.
However, in my PC, in Device Manager. For USB devices, you can see "USB Serial Converter". Do not know if this is important in the problem of my card. It seems that the USB connection (FTDI) between my PC and the card is correct.

In the "Log", I have this:

0 INFO: Starting HxCFloppyEmulator ...
0 INFO: Starting CPLDFloppyEmulator Hw manager ...
INFO 1: ftd2xx.dll Loading ...
INFO 1: FTDI library loaded successfully!
INFO 0: Device ok!
DEBUG: thread ftdichiplistener

If I load the game.dsk (CPC6128) through the "Load", on the "Log", I have a lot of information. Now I put the last 5 lines.
DEBUG: USB Track 36 Size: 25,200 bytes
DEBUG: USB Track 37 Size: 25,200 bytes
DEBUG: USB Track 38 Size: 25,200 bytes
DEBUG: USB Track 39 Size: 25,200 bytes
0 INFO: Starting emulation ...

But ... actually, on the "Status" I still have the message "USB not detected HxC Floppy Emulator!."

Well Jeff, there seems to be a problem with a solder, but I do not know if this problem is the FTDI chip or the Altera chip or elsewhere.
Please, with your experience could tell me where might be the problem.

Jeff, thank you very much again for your help and your attention.
Thanks and best regards, and sorry for my English a little bad.

Still one thing to do : check the ftdi solders.

FTDI Problem

Post by izham_gb94 »

Hello again Jeff and thank you very much for your advice:

I was thinking the same thing, I think there are some defective solder on the FTDI chip, but also wanted to hear your opinion. You're the expert.
I will try to review all this and write again.

Thanks and best regards.
