Copy from SD-card to CPC6128-internal drive

Post by mswintie »

Hi,
I've configured my HxC SD Slim and everything works perfectly.

Now I would like to copy some games from the 4Gb SD card to my internal 3" drive on a floppy disk.(about one or two games per disk-side)
Is there anyone who could explain this to me, step-by-step, since I'm a complete noob

Do some switches on the HxC need to be reset?
At this moment the first two switches on the left-hand-side are switched 'on'.

I have a centronics ribbon cable to connect the HXC-slim to my CPC6128.

Problem is that my internal CPC 6128-drive is not recognized anymore with this setup.

So when I use "disckit3" I select 'copy from drive a to drive a', I have to disconnect the cable each time when writing to the internal drive.
This is not a healthy situation..
Isn't there an easier way??

Many thanks for your patience and help.

I am unsure if you can copy a disk to another disk on CPC, but if you can, this is the same procedure as before (with real drives).
You should ask this to some CPC forum.

Thanks, but the main issue is that my internal drive is not recognized whenever the HXC is connected to my CPC6128.
Whenever connected the HXC has become the |a drive AND |b drive. The internal drive doesn't work unless the HXC is disconnected.
Most probably my settings are wrong.. :?

Kind Regards

Connect your HxC as Drive B with Drive A enabled. See handbook, it depends on the setup of the jumpers. It works fine for me - like a regular drive :-)
