SD SIZE. HXC SLIM AMSTRAD CPC

Post by DrLivingstone »

Hello, I've been doing time trials. With a 1GB card the HXC Floppy emulator gets read after several seconds, but with 8GB takes too long.
It is formatted according to instructions, with FAT32, the root directory is the autoboot.hfe and config. And pictures of the HFE floppy disks are ordered alphabetically in directories A, B, C, D. .. Z. In total there are about 5 Gb of data in the SD. My question is if the HXC Slim have any limitation on number of files or directories because as I explained the access is very slow with Floppy manager.

Thanx

Yes I have also sent another query to the web Norecces respect to HXC file manager for Amstrad.
I do not know if it can be software or hardware or that I made a bad installation. As I say, I have a 5 GB SD HFE's games and programs (about 4400 files in about 25 directories) and when I run on the Amstrad HXC file manager, reading the file structure, going very very slow.
I can upload a video so you can check.
thanks

Well, I've tried several SD cards, and it seems that is not the HXC SLIM comptible with many of them. Now I have a Transcend SD brand of class (4) 8Gb capacity and works perfectly. I insist that anyone who uses an SD in their HXC SLIM and run slow access to the SD try to change it because all are not compatible.
