How do I connect this to a PC?

Post by workingclasshacker »

Hi, I got a HxC from lotharek and it looks great! However, my PC floppy cable has one pin "filled in" making none of the ends possible to connect to the ribbon cable connection on the circuit board. How do I connect it? Are there like adapters or something I should use? If not, how do I match the pinout of the HxC to the "missing pin" layout of the ribbon cable?

Regards,

this pin is not used/not connected.

so you can :

- use another floppy ribbon
or
- make a small hole into the floppy ribbon to make the connection possible

My experience is that the filled in spot on the floppy block connector was just a small plastic pin held in place with nothing more that friction. There is a decent chance that it can be gently extracted using a narrow needle.
