Which tool for creating a PC XT 360K disk image

Post by starstuff »

I don't know if this is possible but I have 1.44M diskette images and original disks for various DOS versions. What I want to know if I can create a 360K HxC image and copy the files from the diskettes and make the image (hfe) bootable.

I already flashed my GOTEK with HxC and downloaded these files:
STM32_SerialBridge.zip (oviously since I flashed the device)
HxCFE_DosDiskBrowser.zip
HxCFloppyEmulator_soft.zip

Since I'm new at this tech I'm a little bit lost so any help would be welcome.

tnx

Never mind, I found one solution there may be others less complicated.

For those interested;
1. Using HxCFloppy Emulator create a new empty 360K 300RPM diskette.
2. Copy the image to the USB stick (DSKA0001.HFC in my case)
3. Put a real disk drive in the computer (1.44M in my case) and set it to disk A.
4. Set the GOTEK HxC emmulator as drive B.
5. Boot from A and format B with the /S option.
6. Shutdown computer and remove the real disk drive.
7. Set the GOTEK HxC emulator as drive A
8. Boot from the newly formatted HxC image.
