It's hard to describe exactly what's happening when I boot into the file selector on my A500, so I recorded a video. Can someone help me figure out what's going on?

It's nearly impossible to work with the buttons given my very quick install of the GOTEK, so I really want this on-screen thing to work. Thanks!

UPDATE: I found another post a few pages down with the same problem, and it mentioned trying the joystick.
Interestingly enough, with a joystick in port 2, I'm able to take control of the screen, but I have to hit the fire button the instant an image is highlighted to assign it to a slot.
The keyboard seems unresponsive. Interestingly enough, it works fine in Workbench.

This appears to be an Amiga hardware issue. Disconnect the mouse and any joystick. Same issue ?
