Changing Disks without reboot

Post by PulseSeeker »

A few weeks ago i got my SD HxC Slim Rev.A
I bought it to replace my diskdrive in my A1200. This means i want to insert und eject disk when installing i.e. the Workbench 3.1
But in the menu i didn't find a option to change a disk-image and return to the workbench. All options to change a disk and save the config require a reboot.

Is there a option that i didn't find to return to the workbench?
Is there a firmware update available or planed which includes this option?

For the moment, you should fill the slots with all wanted disks images.

Or use the indexed mode :

This is possible, but i have to do it.

Note : this is not a firmware problem. All is done by the Amiga software (the image AUTOBOOT.HFE).
Also : We need an Amiga developer to enhanced this software !

I filled the slots 1-7 with disk images named DSKA0001.HFE to DSKA0007.HFE.
But i always can choose the image DSKA0001. When i push the SELECT-Button nothing changes. When i hold the button i can start the Floppy Emulator Manager.

Any hint what i am doing wrong?

I think you need dskA0000.hfe to start with. So first disk is dskA0000.hfe and last disk is dskA0006.hfe

I've named the disk-images from dskA0000.hfe to dskA0006.hfe now. But when i push the select button i'll always get the first-image or the HxCFloppySelector-Icon.

Do i need a special HXCSDFE.CFG or AUTOBOOT.HFE?

The filestructure on my SD-Card looks like this:

Code: Select all

ROOT
||
|--Emulator_as_DF0
| |
| --AUTOBOOT.HFE
--AUTOBOOT.HFE
--DSKA0000.HFE
--DSKA0001.HFE
--DSKA0002.HFE
--DSKA0003.HFE
--DSKA0004.HFE
--DSKA0005.HFE
--DSKA0006.HFE
--HXCSDFE.CFG
Edit:
I forget the HXCSDFE.CFG in the filestructure ;)

Yes sure : You need to enable the indexed mode into the HXCSDFE.CFG with the hxc software. (AUTOBOOT.HFE is not used anymore in this mode.)
