Unstable operation on Yamaha QY700

Post by isiysht »

hello.
Gotek's jumper uses S1 only, Interface mode uses Generic IBMPC_DD_HD, and the image file uses ".img".
It doesn't work, but the operation is unstable because Bad Disk is often displayed when reading or formatting the disc.
Do I need any other settings I should do?

P.S.
FlashFloppy works fine with S1 jumper + IBM PC and others with default settings.
The reason for using ".img" for the image file is that it is easy to handle on Mac.

No support is provided for flashfloppy here.

If you are talking about the hxc firmware try to regenerate one with the "Non gated mode" option enabled :

I tried various things in Non gated mode, but it remains unstable enough to read only once or twice out of ten times.
How should I set it?
The FD drive of the QY700 is ALPS DF354H121F.

Are you sure you have updated the firmware ?
does the error appear when starting the reading or during the reading ?
can you try to clear all the internal settings ? (press the right button at power up during > 5 seconds)

First, Gotek is SFRKC30.AT2, which is used only on OLED display.
It was confirmed that HxCFEUSB_V4_2_10_12a.UPD works without any problem just by inserting the firmware.
However, if you put in a custom farm (settings are left as default), an error will occur during loading.
"Bad Disk" is displayed on the screen of QY700, and no error is displayed on the OLED display of Gotek.
I've tried many things, but I think there is a problem with the custom firmware.

Try to enable the "Non gated mode" on the custom page.

I own a Yamaha QY300 with an early model GOTEK floppy simulator and it has worked very well...
Just a few small glitches that I can get by understanding that the simulator IS a 'retrofit'....
My QY 300 is showing its age now and I worry that it may fail permanently.
So I bought another QY300 on Ebay and it has an updated GOTEK installed.
However, the file types are now different and I have so far been unable to figure out how to use the newer QY300.
I ALSO own a very little used QY700 with the floppy drive installed.
I question whether the GOTEK floppy simulator would be a good fit for the QY700.
Overall, I'm needing an experienced commenter to suggest things to make both my Yamaha sequencers work properly.
Thanks for your help if you can drop a line!
