Korg I5M and HxC

Post by teevee »

Hi HxC Community,
I wanted to test a Gotek flashed with HxC in a Korg I5M, which I had laying around.

Korg I5M needs a 34 to 26 pin ribbon cable adapter, which I ordered from here:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/304011493903

my OLED screen tells me that the cable is reversed, but if I turn the adapter, then the device and Floppy emulator stays off.

Any ideas?

additionally, Im a bit green on the installation here, but the seller of the adapter told me, that the adapter should as per following within the Factory System Firmware. [which should be easy to do on the HxC platform together with HxC Floppy emulator Software]
Hello, please download the program from the link: http://www.ketron.it/images/ketron/soft ... ketron.exe

1. Install the program as admin on the PC.
2. Execute the program (Virtual Floppy Format).
3.Select a flash disk (USB stick) min 8Gb.
4. Select number of partition: 1000
5. Select Floppy partition size 1.44 mb.
6. Start format.

After formatting start the program Virtual Floppy Explorer, select virtual floppy disks and copy midifiles.
The rest is self-explanatory.

Emulator SFR1M44-U100K has jumper settings. 1 jumper must be set to S1. And the others have to get out.

What is the exact MCU model used in this Gotek ?

The ribbon message appears if the Write gates (24) and Step (20) signals are low/connected to the VSS/GND.

We are talking a SFRKC30.AT2 model.

I think I found the issue, see the 2 cracks on the Ribbon Cable, I dont know what these signal represent, but i guess that is not a good sign!

I need to find a replacement for a AWN 2896 26-pin Flat Flexible Cable, which seems not very easy. Do you think a AWM 20264 can substitute?

Example:

I need the exact MCU reference : A same pcb reference can now share many MCU references (and clones/fake unfortunately ...)
Which firmware version are you using ?

This is one of the expensive ones with STM32F105 and firmware version 3.5.2.5a

Concerning my question above, would replacing the AWN 2896 with a AWM 20264 be sufficient? [as this could be the root cause to the issue]

Wait... This is an AT2 board with a QFN STM32F105 version ??? In this case this is the root cause of the issue, i need to modify the firmware to support this new board<>mcu combination...
