With which software I can format USB stick for 1000 virtual DD disc?
Then I can try format it for Yamaha Disclavier.
Just select the image number on the emulator, and then format it with the disklavier.
Once you have a formatted/working image you can duplicate it as you want to have 1000 virtual images.

Hello everyone

I just put a USB GOTEK on my Yamaha disklavier SX101RBl, after battling a morning, now it works nickel. I formatted the first virtual floppy on the piano and then duplicated it on the PC in a hundred copies. I can now record and play directly from the piano.

Thank you all for the examples and videos that helped me in this branch of the forum.

I still have a point to clarify, I would have liked to recover the Yamaha physical floppy that I had in my possession. It seems that it does not work with a USB drive and I do not think we can put an internal drive on a recent PC to dump floppy disks. Has anyone found a solution?

Thank you for your answer

Hello,

Have you managed to copy midi files to HFE and with which software?

I just installed a Gotek on my Disklavier, before I used old software DOMSMF and YDM which allowed to put labels or to put a title to the pieces ... Do you have something more recent?

Thank you for your reply.

Hello everyone,

We have a Yamah Disklavier (self playing piano) approx. 20 years old, in our family that plays midi from floppy disks. It includes piano pieces played and recorded on the piano by deceased relatives. I'm trying to replace the floppy drive by a Gotek USB simulator, the model I have bought is advertised as:

SFR1M44-U100K Black 3.5" 1.44MB USB SSD FLOPPY DRIVE EMULATOR for YAMAHA KORG ROLAND Electronic keyboard GOTEK

I have replaced the floppy drive with the Gotek drive, however the system does not seem to work. I have tried all/most jumper configurations on the back of the Gotek which has effects on the behavior of the system but does not lead to a working solution. The floppy drive in the piano is marked as:

TEAC FD-235HF A568 (P/N: 193077A5-68) (S/N: U758628)

Here is a picture of the jumper configuration of the floppy unit:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/IBc4KusjIrVPdEeA2

I have found some posts referring to HxC as a solution for there Yamaha electronic keyboards. I am by no means an expert in this area and would love to get some directions from you guys as how to get the Gotek working with my disklavier. Any ideas or pointers would be helpful.
I have a Yamaha Disklavier MX100MR with the same floppy drive TEAC FD-235HF A568 (P/N: 193077A5-68). But my floppy seems faulty and cannot enter MIDI mode.

I bought a Gotek USB floppy emulator that was said to be SFR1M44-U100K. I cannot verify if this is the actual model.

The jumper setting photo link is no longer working. What would be the correct jumper setting? I assume such jumper configurations:JA and S0 only.
J5 ---
JA set to generete READY signal on 34pin of floppy driver interface
JC ---
JB ---
S0 Driver select 0
S1 ---
MO ---

Will this be the correct setting?

SFR1M44-FEL90-DL seems to be the correct model because Yamaha EL90 and Disklavier MX100MR/MX100A are having same floppy pinouts. But I am not able to source the model because it seems end of life already. (EOL).
SFR1M44-FEL-DL was suggest to me. But this is for Yamaha EL900 which has different pinout than EL90. I was told the jumper setting above could help, but I haven't got one of this model to test out.

Hi there,
I was wondering what type of Gotex HxC and what type of thumb drive you bought to do this? I have a Disklavier control unit DKC5R. Are there step by step instructions somewhere?
Thank you
