How exactly ? (Floppy dump ? Floppy image used ? Jumper settings / Floppy interface mode ? The floppy cable need to be reversed ?)
:D :?:

My little "how to":
--------------------------------------------------------------------
AKAI S01 (OS Ver. 1.0) floppy disk data:

Double sided, 80 Tracks (0 - 79), 10 sectors, 500kbit/s, MFM
Total: 1600 sectors, 1638400 bytes
--------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Create an image from real floppy disk with Omni Flop 2.3b! => http://www.shlock.co.uk/Utils/OmniFlop/OmniFlop.htm
(Disk format: AKAI S-Series HD-Disk)

2. In HcXFloppyEmulator 1.6.9.0 load this image as RAW file with a.m. disk settings. RPM = 300, Sectors size = 1024, Auto GAP3 (standard)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HFE file interface mode:
Auto (Generic Shugart)

Hardware Jumper settings:
Atari ST/Amiga/Shugart jumper settings: Drive A, ID0, no reversed floppy cable!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope this will be helpful to other users.

Hi,

I know this thread is a little old, but............

I'm interested in giving this a go as the drive of my S01 has failed.

Could you go into more details about how to create the image of the disk? Any chance you could post up the image? When I use Akaidisk to read my previously formatted disks it produces an error, so I'm not sure I have any succesfully formatted disks. Either that or my PC drive is also failing.

Many thanks

Hy !

I'm new and I write to you for help on akai s01 and gotek drive.

I've bought from a guy a gotek drive to install on my S01. He sent me it but don't work ! The drive show always and error: "E34". If i try the format, i see always F_F and after E34.

The guy don't answer me (!!!) and I've contacted Jean Francois Del Nero. I've bought the last version of firmware, I've installed it and now the display show me "HxC" with a stick in the drive and "Nor" without stick. Perfect. But I see always "Pro" when I try to format the stick.

Del Nero sent me the image files but they are for the S950 and not work.

Where I can found the files for the S01 ? I've received the S01 from my cousin, with the floppy drive damaged, and he don't sent me the floppy disk for to find the images :(

Can you help me?

Use the indexed mode ! As i said please use the indexed config file and rename it HXCSDFE.CFG !

https://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_dri ... Images.zip

See the troubleshooting :

https://hxc2001.com/docs/gotek-floppy-e ... oting.html
 This doesn't work : I see "NOR" on the display when inserting the USB stick

The emulator is in "NORmal mode".

Since you don't have any OLED or LCD screen, you need to use the indexed mode or the "autoboot" mode if you have an Amiga/Atari ST/CPC.
In this mode you must use the indexed config file and name the files images DSKA0000.XXX, DSKA0001.XXX, DSKA0002.XXX (replace XXX by the original file extension.) See the usage page for more details.

Already done. I see the location 001, 002, etc on the stick but don't save the files (always PRO on display when I try it)

See the troubleshooting :
Ok. I will try to read it

thanks

Nothing of useful.

I think that my dir on the stick is correct.

The drive write the stick (I have reinstalled the firmware and in a procedure the drive write one file on the stick).

The problems isn't the drive (I think) but the protocol between the drive and the S01.

The reason can be one of this:

- the type of file (I'm using the files for the S950. Is correct?)
- setup not correct in the drive (for the protocol interface). How I can to verify it?
- an hardware setup wrong on the gotek (I must to modify sime shunts?)

I don't found other answers to my questions :( :( :(

What is displayed on the gotek screen with the usb stick inserted ?

Is the green led always lit ?

the interface mode need to be set to generic shugart (use the attached cfg file attached)
HXCSDFE.CFG.zip
(218 Bytes) Downloaded 564 times
And the jumper need to set to S0. (remove all others jumpers)

Ok. When the stick is inserted, the led at right is green (always on) and, on the display, I see the text "rib". The size of the stick is 8 gb

"rib" + led always on : floppy connection problem : Reconnect the floppy ribbon to the right way. It is not connected correctly. the
This is explained in the troubleshooting post :
