Sequential Prophet 2000

Post by flowerbranch »

Hello,

I ordered a SDcard HxC for my Emu Emax yesterday. I also own an Sequential Prophet 2000 - and it would be fantastic to put a HcX in it!

Would it be possible in the future?

I have some images made with:

From the disk format doc from the linked site, it looks like this machine is always formatting tracks and never writing to the sectors afterwards, so every write is a track format. Also real disks are written with some deleted address marks, but they don't appear to be important to operation.

So you should definitely be able to read disks from the emulator in this format, but writing to the emulator will be problematic unless track formatting support is added.

No :
"it not actually writing to them when saving data.
The sectors not written are left with a DDAM."

This only means that some sectors not intend to be used by the prophet are left with the DDAM.

And since the WD1770 is not able to write value 0xF5 up to 0xFE into the data sector field during formatting this solution seems odd to me ;-).
(0xF5-0xFE are used as crc / missing clock generator).

It works perfect!

Fantastic feeling to load sounds into the Prophet without disks!

I made a little video with my phone. Very dark and not so good quality.

You can find it in the same place as the imagefile.

I will try to make a better one this weekend...

Emax testing tomorrow!

Just out of curiosity, have you tried saving data to the virtual disk as well?

I now have my HxC working in the Prophet 2000. It genereally supports read and write. Jeff is very kind in supporting me to get the board running on my P2k. I still have some issues with the type of SD-Card I use, but this will be fixed in a future firmware update.

I use Class10 SD cards now and reading and writing both works good!

I wondering if it would also work with a Studio440 :?:
