Problem floppy emualator for CNC machine
Hi!
I bought your "SDCard HxC Floppy Emulator".
I need to transfer data from the computing system
that runs under DOS to the CNC machine.
Data is written to the disk drive into the 5.25 format 320 KB 8 sectors 40 tracks.
In the BIOS the floppy drive is defined as 5.25 1200 kb.
I can write the data to the emulator at the SD-card under the
DOS-based computer. Data is recorded without errors.
The problem is that the CNC machine
can not read even the file name from the emulator.
The CNC machine is installed the drive NEC FD-1054.
It capacity is 360 kb, it included non twisted cable.
I append the photo of jumper setting floppy drive which is installed on the CNC machine.
Also I append the "hfe" file which can not be reading at the CNC machine .
firmware version 1.5.1.0 revision C
HxCFloppyEmulator version 1.5.2.1
Expect you to how to resolve this error!

Is the floppy emulator reacting when you try to read the disk ?seaman_2007 wrote:Hi!

Hi,seaman_2007 wrote:I got your files. Error as before
In the picture the floppy emulator jumper seems to be in the wrong position.
Try the --ID0-Drive A-- jumper position or the --ID3-Drive A-- jumper position.
The floppy emulator must at least show you that the CNC machine is trying to read the virtual disk.
You should get a "RA" message on the lcd when the CNC read the disk.
If not the jumper position is wrong.

Hi!
what is jumper setting should be on your device and what HFE files must be installed, if the original floppy NEC FD1054
is connected to the machine CNC non twisted cable and original jumper setting of floppy NEC FD1054 is on the attached photos
This is some information about floppy NEC FD1054:

These drives are compatible with standard Floppy interface.

Re: Problem floppy emualator for CNC machine
I quote my previous message :
Did you see the "RA" message on the LCD when is trying to read the disk ?
The user manual may help:
https://hxc2001.com/floppy_drive_emulat ... Manual.pdf
Try the jumper position showed in diagram showed below.Jeff wrote:Hi,seaman_2007 wrote:I got your files. Error as before

Re: Problem floppy emualator for CNC machine
Hi!
Jumper is included in your instructions, but the error remains the same - DISK ERROR on CNC machine. Displayed on the emulator RA Message <<RA T:000/40 S:0>>
The sequence of my actions when creating a disk was as follows:
I took a dump diskettes, shot with a pre-formatted with a specialized program on the computer running the operating system DOS. On this basis, it was found that the floppy has the following format 320 KB 40-Track 8 sectors.
Emulator was created following a floppy disk and written to the SD card emulator.
<pic1>
What has changed as a test of the value of GAP3 ranging from 40 to 70. Unfortunately I could not not format does not write data to the emulator.
Then I did a dump directly from this drive, the menu item «Floppy disk dump».
<pic2>
Dump is created without errors. This type of dump emulated but not completely. That is, write the data I could! And here is a specialized program to format a floppy disk failed.
full floppy dump- is dump original diskette

cnc machine cannot read the data from hxc floppy emulator
Good day!
We have an old cnc machine. We have many times tried to use your device,
but we can not reconcile on a device with the cnc machine
Perhaps the problem is the speed of data transmission from the device to the cnc machine and interleaving?
We created a topic in the forum, but it is now removed.
Probably, the emulator sends data faster than they are processed by cnc machine.
Remind contents previous one letter:
Hi!
I bought your "SDCard HXC Floppy emulator.
I need to transfer data from computer system
That runs under DOS for CNC machines.
Data is written to the disk format 5.25 320 KB 8 sectors 40 tracks.
In the BIOS the drive is defined as 5.25 1200 kB.
I can write data to the emulator on the SD-card under
DOS-PC. Data is written without errors.
The problem is that the machine with CNC
can not even read the file name of the emulator.
On CNC machines installed drive NEC FD-1054.
Its capacity is 360 kb, it is connected, not twisted cable.
firmware version 1.5.1.0 revision C
HxCFloppyEmulator version 1.5.2.1
How do we fix this error!
PS sorry for my English!

problem with file transfer on cnc machine
Hi again
Can we specify in configuration file the data rate, GAP, and the interleaving ?

Problem floppy emualator for CNC machine
Thank you, but we have again a negative result.
Maybe the situation will clarify the algorithm of the work with cnc machine when we read the data from 5.25 "floppy disks:
Insert the floppy disks, and press/ Load /up the displays cnc machine appears/ 1 = read/,/ 2 = write/, press 1 (read)
the display shows the name of the pattern, which is recorded on floppy disks. Then we press /OK/ button to started to read from diskette
When we connect hxc emulator, while trying to read, we do not observe TOC floppy disks. And the only Disk Error message.
We'll send you an image of the original floppy disks 5.25 "with a pattern which is perceived to machine correctly.
