When I took the image I simply selected 40 track, double step but did not make changes to the raw settings, should I have before trying to capture the image?
No there are no point with the "Load Raw" window and the floppy dump tool.

The file image seems good : "COPYRIGHT (C) 1979, DIGITAL RESEARCH"

have you tried all HFE files images ?

Which track is the computer trying to read ?

What jumper setting are you using ? Can you make a picture of the floppy emulator ?

Hi, not sure what you mean by a picture. Are you wanting me to take a photograph of it connected to the MTX FDC?

It must be right on the jumper as when the MTX tries to boot from disc the disc light comes on on the Hxc2001. Then it either goes off after a few seconds or stays on.

watching the LCd during the attempted boot process the numbers do not change at all. The only thing I can say is when the MTX tries to access the disk the middle (drive access?) light comes on so am assuming this is its attempt. Other than that there is no noise to suggest any stepping is happening. On the real 5,25" drive if the disc does not contac a boot block it will not try and step the motor either, if that helps?

Just another thought. If I go into 'load raw image', change the settings then select 'load raw file' then select 'export' does this export the image file with the new raw settings?

Attached is a group of files from one of the MTX writers who wrote some FDC software, not sure if any of it is useful but he did mention something about there being a skew involved but I cannot make any sense of what he has sent over.

No. If you want really change the format of the disk :

Button Export -> Choose IMG File as target type.
You got a raw file .
After click on the "Load raw Image",set the parameters and load the exported raw file.

But i don't think that this is the problem....

One thing :
Please update your software and try to reread your disk with the new one :
