Interesting now, it looks like it is trying to read. The Track indicator goes from 000 to 001 very quickly before the error occurs.
This is with the non-gated firmware installed.

ok then now you need to try different interface mode settings.

Hi Jeff,

Yes the disks are HD and DOS compatible.
To be sure I imported an existing data disk into HXC (see below)
MFM HD 500kbps 80 Tracks.

I then saved as a .hfe file, so it should load straight away.

The access LED lights up, but can't be read.

Anthony.
Can you share / send me this hfe ?

Thanks for persisting with this issue Jeff.
I've tried all the .hfe you sent though, but no luck with any of them. Some look like they try to read (Track counter goes up a little then back to 000).

Attached is the .hfe which should be formatted correctly.

When you mentioned that different interface modes need to be tried out, which settings were you meaning?

Is there a possibility it is a hardware / wiring problem that still needs to be resolved?

Anthony.

Please :

- Reset any internal parameters with the embedded menu. (clear settings menu)

- Try try the attached files and CFG files.

If this still doesn't work update to the attached firmware and retry.
