HxC for Sony MFD-73W-50 (MP-F73W-50) in Hewlett Packard 9122C floppy disc drive

Post by wb0gaz »

I am searching for HxC emulation solution for Hewlett Packard 9122C dual floppy drive unit (GPIB interface), which has inside Sony MFD-73W-50 (also another label MP-F73W-50). It is single connector (no power supply connector), so I understand change in floppy ribbon cable will probably be required.

I did find reference to HP 9153C, but I do not know if this uses same kind of floppy drive.

Floppy drive inside, and 9122C itself, will accept 1.4MB (HD) floppy diskettes.

Thank you for any recommendation.

If this is wrong place for this posting, please let me know.

Thank you!

According to this, this should work properly :

And yes you must disconnect the +12V and +5V supply lines in the floppy ribbon and redirect the +5V to the HxC power input.
