Is there an ATR version of one of your SCP dump ? (the DD version is the most interesting version)
Maybe you can generate an ATR from the SCP with a tool ?

The Concord disks are actually just the concord distribution of DosXL...various versions and formats of DosXL can be downloaded here in .atr
https://atariwiki.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=OSS%20DOS%20XL
Does this help?
:-)

With this one there is no disk error. There is some activity with loading noises and track movement (via speaker of course) for a second or two, then silence and the drive light turns off...after about 10 seconds the screen blanks and the process repeats.

How this is possible...

All is working fine with the DOS image ? Have you tried to start/read some program from this disk ?

Not sure exactly what is going on. I tried some new hfe images form the games set you sent me, but they didn't work, neither did the ones that I just had working a few mins ago. DOSXL still worked fine. I then removed the USB drive and put it in again, and now everything works. Strange.

There is something really weird going on.
I can not boot the games disk images unless I have the DOSXL disk image on the USB stick and boot to this first. After I boot to DOSXL, I am then able to boot from the games images.
I have tried this with two USB sticks and it is the same problem. I can't think what's happening.
My setup is 7 segment display Gotek flashed with latest upd.

UPDATE- If I then remove the DOSXL image I can still boot to games disks.
