Hi *,
I have a TRS-80 Model 1 Level 2 with 32KB mem expansion, lowercase mod, density doubler (I think Percom) and two Shugart single-sided drives.
As expected after 30+ years of inactivity, most of my disks are not readable anymore. So I'm secretly hoping that HxC might help me to regenerate some 5"1/4 disks.
I've read some nasty things on the Internet about density doublers and track 0 of disks being in low density; as far as I remember Newdos/80 had the ability to bypass this weirdness (ah! the PDRIVE command...).
Do I have any chance to succeed in regenerating disks if I purchase an HxC board ?
And if so is there a preferred HxC model ?
TIA!

Yes sure !_Wise_ wrote: Do I have any chance to succeed in regenerating disks if I purchase an HxC board ?

A new firmware allows you to make a low level format !
Any SD HxC is ok (Rev C/F/Slim)
