Sorry to be that guy, but I'm not finding any information on how to install the actual hardware? Been looking for ages. Or is it just as easy as plugging it in? In an FZ-10m if it's of any importance (I'm really just trying to figure out how it connects correctly).

How am I not finding any instructions on how to install this? Honestly I'm not lazy, perhaps just plain stupid lol

Edit: As I understand it, the jumper should cover the "S0" pins. Is that it? Hence this is correct, and ready to plug in?

This is not an HxC Floppy Emulator. Have at least installed the HxC Firmware on this ? -> https://hxc2001.com/store

This does my head in.. I had it linked to me on a another site as working with the FZ-10, which I believed from what I'd read. This was last winter, so my memories are foggy about the details of it and the ebay auction is gone. But, so what, the HxC is a modified Gotek drive (I assumed that Gotek was specifically designed as an all-around Floppy Drive Emulator)?

This is the same seller, so I'm assuming it's the same hardware but an updated ad basically.

And from reading that I'm assuming the HxC Firmware needs to be installed.

Thanks for the help. Really thought I did my research last time, but apparently nope.

The HxC Floppy Emulator is a true product, not only a gotek hack : https://lotharek.pl/productdetail.php?id=27

Lets check if your gotek have the HxC firmware : Please tell me what you can read on the gotek display without usb stick inserted ?

Ah, I see. But how would I start it up without connecting it? By the way, is there an actual manual somewhere for connecting it to the sampler, that I'm missing?

Actually, it says USB HxCFloppyEmulator v.3.0.8.2a on it, followed by a link to hxc2001.com so I think it's been installed.

Ok then first update the firmware :

Well, first connect it to the sampler I assume then? That's the step I'm unsure of how to proceed with..

Edit: Didn't intend to sound like an ingrate

if you want.
Connect the power connection, the floppy ribbon, set the jumper to s0, remove any other jumper.
Unpack the FZ1 zip archive to the root of the the usb stick :
https://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_dri ... Images.zip

and don't forget to update the firmware.

Okay I've connected the floppy and copied the firmware and fz-files to the usb stick. However when booting it (with the two buttons pressed) the screen first flashes quickly, then it's loading and lastly it flashes three times before "HxC" appears. Am I to assume that it means FAT error?

The file "HXCSDFE.CFG" appeared both in the firmware zip as well as the other one, and when using the firmware-version I get "disk error" and with the other one I get "disk not ready".

Okay, I realized it said "copy the .upd to the flash drive" and I copied and replaced all the contents on the flash drive with the filees in the new firmwares folder.. Is this the problem?

If you saw "LDR" first, no this should be fine.

What can you read on the drive screen ?
If you are using an Gotek with a 7 segments screen, use the indexed config file and rename the HFE files as this : DSKA0000.HFE,DSKA0001.HFE,DSKA0002.HFE....

It just displays "HxC" and the buttons do nothing. Tried renaming the files as well as using the indexed config file, but I still get "Disk not ready".

The Autoboot.hfe is in the root by default. Could it be interfering?

Or if you mean the samplers screen, without the usb stick it gets stuck on "executing" and with the usb stick in I get "Disk not ready".

Copy the file Config_Files/Indexed_mode/HXCSDFE.CFG from the USB Stick STM32 HxC Floppy Emulator firmware update archive ( https://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_driv ... rmware.zip ) to the usb stick root folder and rename your HFE files DSKA0000.HFE,DSKA0001.HFE,DSKA0002.HFE....
