Hi Jeff,

OK success, thank you. Changing the jumpers has worked.
I can load an .hfe image with K5000 format .KA1 patches and load them into the machine, so thats great. I just have one problem left, the two leds that indicate disk access on the hxc drive, the one on the right side is constantly flashing even if not trying to read from the hxc, is there anyway to stop that?
Many thanks for all help.

Cheers, Rob

No the LED closest to the sd slot, is constantly flashing fast, im not in the disk menu on the K5000 for reading and loading so shouldnt be accessing the sd? Its very distracting!

Any thoughts on the flashing LED Jeff? I believe it to be the SD access LED (one closest to sd card slot on hxc)... its constantly flashing regardless of what im doing on the K5000.
Let me know, i still have the K5000R on the floor with top cover removed and want to put it back together and stick it back in the rack.
Thanks again for all, Rob

The led to the right is the floppy access. This means that the K5000R is polling the drive to detect a disk change, this is quite common.
This maybe filtered by software, but you should show me this in a video before.

Figured it out, playing with the different jumper settings, all OFF except ID3 ON... all working perfectly now
Thanks!

But i bet that the disk change detection isn't working properly with this setting, isn't it ?

Sorry not sure what disk change detection means?
The leds both behave ok from what i can see and the same way as the leds on my hxc drive in my S950
