Hi K2 users, I installed an HxC Floppy Emulator (USB version) on my K2000VP. It works very well and reads all the .HFE files that came with it.

Hello,

This not an HxC firmware or "HxC Floppy Emulator".

I can't provide any support for this firmware.
I only provide support to HxC Floppy Emulator firmware and/or hardware users :

For the gotek :

I apologize for the belated thanks Jeff

if I had known earlier that it was easier to use the SD version instead of the USB, I would have done it...

No problem.
Anyway the hxc firmware installation on this gotek can be done very easily with just an usb stick.

And definitely, when it doesn't want to, it doesn't want to!!
Whatever the firmware put on the USB key, I always get the error message E01: Error 1 (blink 1 times and 2 seconds pause cycle) No entry point (→no software flashed)

My English is not too good, I may have misunderstood a subtlety in the installation procedure which is however not complicated:

1)Take a FAT32, FAT16 or FAT12 formatted USB stick : OK

2)Remove any older *.upd file from the USB stick : OK

3)Copy the new firmware file (*.upd) to the USB stick : OK the upd file is copied to the USB key in FAT32. There's nothing else on it

4)Insert the USB Stick into the emulator and press both buttons : OK

5)Power up the device and keep the buttons pressed for at least 2 seconds : OK

6)Wait some seconds… its done! NO!! :? message [E01] on the screen

You need to get and install the HxC bootloader first : https://hxc2001.com/store
