Electorlux first (and last :)) public preview and other stuff

With a bunch of friends, we have had our annual meeting, in Belgium (The famous OMGWTFBBQ '05). It was very cool indeed. And it was also the opportunity to make a small "show" about my custom console project (think about a parodic version of a console manufacturer conference at E3). I even prepared slides for this purpose, and a video has been made. I will put them online as soon as I have arranged a bit the video.
I already have too many projects, but I will start another one, which should not take long. My wife and I had the idea to make a small toy for our son, that we be called Kaaké. It will be basically a box made of wood, where you'll be able to insert some plates with some drawings (arranged as a 4x4 grid) on them. Under each drawing on a given plate, there will be a button that will play a small voice recording once pressed, this voice recording being of course related to the drawing close to the button. See ? :)
I know there are tons of toys like that, but this one would be much more customizable and there are also some obvious sentimental reasons that make us want to do that. My wife will cope with the hardware part (design and building of the box), while I will cope with the electronics part.
The electronics part seems quite easy, but it's also easier said than done too, so watch out the http://torlus.com/index.php?Fpga section for updates :)
