The Alchimie parties are French's most popular meetings about alternative computing, organized by the Triple A association. It was the opportunity for me to demonstrate Jeff's project, and to hold a conference about digital logic, and FPGAs.

Here is my own stand, to demonstrate the HxC Floppy Drive Emulator.

Most of the room was filled with weird gizmos : Amiga-related stuff, like AmigaOne and Pegasos machines, and Linux stuff for the most.

You could also find some Mac, Atari, Sinclair, Oric, MSX stuff (not to mention the two (!) X68000 brought by my fellow Silicium companion Philou).

I spent most of my time explaining the capabilities of the HxC Floppy Drive Emulator. I hope that I've been able to explain clearly all the advantages of such a system over floppy drives and floppy disks :)

Then I hold my conference. The main goal was to show that getting into hardware design, when you come from the "software world", is something that is worth trying with technologies like FPGAs. I hope I have convinced some of them to get their hands into hardware, like I did myself some years ago :)

To sum up, it was a really great moment...
Many thanks for Mr Belett, cicile and all the Triple A staff...
See you next year :)

EDIT : you can download the slides I made for my conference here (warning, they're in French language)
