Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
I've tested on my A2000
Still hear corruption in the MOD file
I'm going to test on my A500 with ACA1234 disabled right now, will report in a moment

Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
Changed to my A500 with the ACA500+ enabled but running 68000, ACA1234 68030 disabled, soooo slow
- Wrote the same MOD to a new empty.adf
- Played it back, still corrupt, but different
- Sending the file This is the Amiga that can write on the old Gotek with old firmware no problem.
You know there is one more thing I can do here...
I can use the ACA500+ to boot into my AmigaOS 1.3 \ KS1.3 partition and try writing to the Artery Gotek from there to see if this is an OS\KS related issue
Will take a bit of time to set that up

Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
Yes exactly the same issue (one sector skipped per track), and this exact issue "can't" happen anymore because of the usb stick since the full track is now cached to the RAM. The usb stick doesn't seems to be the issue.
For the moment i ran out of idea. i don't reproduce this issue here. I suspect several others factors : the WB / KS 3.2 with a different stream alignment and/or the NTSC vs the PAL machines (the floppy parts are not clocked at the same frequency) which may trigger a bug.
I have just tested again the Artery Gotek with this firmware on my other Amiga, a standard PAL A500 under WB 1.3D, and unfortunately i don't reproduce the issue.
I will try to hack the 28MHz oscillator to make it like an NTSC Amiga and maybe switch to the KS 3.2.
To sum up this is what i try to produce :
BTW Can you try the HxCFEUSB_V4_2_10_12a.UPD firmware on this machine with the old Gotek ?
Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
All of my machines are PAL Agnus, PAL crystal
I don't have NTSC here
I found it better for game\demo compatibility
I think the other two who have been reporting have NTSC Amiga's
I'm setting up for WB 1.3 \ KS 1.3 \ PAL write test
I'm not tempted to 'update' the one of four Gotek I have that is actually working.
Perhaps after the other three Artery Gotek are working, I will update.

Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
v4.2.11.4a
just some alignments changed. let me know if this change anything for you. (this still working here)
EDIT : UPD file removed, the fix is in this post :

Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
I have news !
Here is the file generated by your newest firmware on my A2000 running AmigaOS 3.2 It's still corrupt..
BUT...
I booted into AmigaOS 1.3 using KS 1.3 and wrote this file Which appears to be corruption free

Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
You can see what version I was running as well
Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
A1200
3.0 Rom - rekicked to 3.1
TF1260 (060)
128GB USB stick
Works fine! Tried the same machine with 3.2.1 roms and it fails running WB 3.1. Seems to be some kind of timing issue with 3.2 roms?
Hope that helps.

Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
Yes thanks, that' help a lot !
So finally the common point appears to be this 3.2 KS ROM.
I will try to setup this KS ROM here.
(BTW Do think it is possible to run a 3.2 ROM with a WB 2.0 on a stock A500/A600 machine ? I have only 1MB of RAM on my machines )

Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
I'm guessing the fastest, cheapest way for you to get the RAM needed to run KS3.2 and WB3.2 is something like this
https://amigastore.eu/en/710-amiga-500- ... n-rtc.html#/
In your A500 (30 Euro for 2MB version)
or
https://amigastore.eu/en/762-amiga-600- ... t-ram.html
In your A600 (28 Euro for 4MB version)
I can make up a WB 2.0 floppy and try booting with KS 3.2 ROM just to see what happens.

Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
I wonder if Hyperion would tell you what they changed in the 3.2 disk handling part of the rom.
Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
Have you a usb ttl serial interface ? the debug output is enabled on the firmware posted here and tell when something is wrong with the write stream
(8bits / 115200baud serial link - only available on "big" 64 or 48 pins artery or stm gotek)

Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
I have one. Tell me exactly where to connect.
Re: Some of my HxC Goteks are not writting ADFs
Just connect the vss/gnd and the TX pin the usb adapter RX pin. ignore all the other stuff.
please use a ttl adapter, not an rs232 version.
