Emulator lock feature

Post by tooty »

dear jeff,

your product has benefited us a lot still using old machines. thanks.

however, we have some risk/problem encountered that some busybody could have chance to touch the button to change the disk image. it will cause our machine parameters saved elsewhere or even the process stopped.

is it possible to realize the lock function if the operator dont want the others to change disk? what comes into my mind is to push both buttons to toggle lock/unlock.

best wishes.
wj

yes i can implement something like this. but the 2 buttons are already used to eject/insert the image disk.

i am thinking about an autolock feature: power up -> normal mode during 30 seconds -> auto lock -> long press to leave the auto lock.

that's an very good idea.
i suggest to use the same way as we commonly use on many machine in the factory. in "setting mode", the display keeps blinking and no disk at all. once disk loaded(either select button pressed or auto load enabled), panel is locked. in the "disk loaded mode", long press of any button will eject the disk and it enters into setting mode.

What do you mean with "setting mode" ? You mean "disk image selection mode" ?
