Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
Hello,
I'm new here and I have some dudes. I'll buy a Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL for my Yamaha Clavinova, and I want to flash with HcX. The question is if this conversion will work for my piano, and if other Gotek models (SFR1M44-U100K, ...) are valid for me too if I'll convert it with HxC. Since the Clavinova needs 720k support, I'll buy this specific unit recommended in other forums (only in white colour and more expensive), but my real dude is if all Gotek models are valid after HxC conversion (other models are black, better for me, and cheaper!).
Thanks!

Re: Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
Should be ok. But if you convert with HxC, you can get the SFR1M44-U100K too. It will work as 720k and 1M44.DanielDOC wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2018 12:03 amHello,

Re: Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
I'm having issues to flash bootloader.
5V and Ground connected to the "normal" white port.
TX from USB to RX on the board.
RX from the USB to TX on the board.
I put a clip between J3 and VCC3V3
No more.
When I plug the USB with the clip then no LCD message.
When I plug without the clip then 000 on LCD.
The Serial Bridge program not says me "device detected".
Please, help me!
Thanks!
P.D. I have to say that finally i bought SFRM72-FU-DL
EDIT: DONE!!!!! TX and RX were inverted! BOOTLOADER FLASHED!

Re: Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
Next problem,
Can't change parameters with HxCFloppyEmulator because "FTDI D2XX Driver not installed" message.
I tried some drivers but nothing...
Maybe a "cheap" USB to COM adapter issue?

Re: Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
No point with the "USB HxC Floppy Emulator".
Just use the cfg files into the firmware archive or use the SD HxC settings window.
Re: Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
Sorry Jeff, but i'm not fine on this. I probe the "indexed" config file and add one "DSKA0000.HFE" image into the pendrive but nothing. The LCD shows hXc.
Some jumpers wrong? Some config needed for a Yamaha Clavinova? I search over the forum but not resolve my dude.
Sorry and thanks!
Re: Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
"HxC" only means that no image are loaded.
Check:
-that you are using the right indexed cfg file.
-that your hfe files are named DSKA0000.HFE, DSKA0001.HFE, DSKA0002.HFE...
- that your usb stick is formatted in FAT32.

Re: Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
Done, but no luck (and with two pendrives).
Going back, for bypass errors, my firmware is well flashed? When I flashed it finished showing three times "888" (but less than 2 second between each, not like the error list), and then "Nor". it is good flashed? If this is OK, then my issue is other.
All the time I used FAT32.
Thanks again.
Re: Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
"Nor" means that you are in "normal mode". You have are definitively not using the right config file ! You must use the indexed version cfg file :DanielDOC wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2018 12:19 pmDone, but no luck (and with two pendrives).

Use the one present in Config_Files/Indexed_mode into this archive :

EDIT : send me files present on your usb stick by email.

Note: I'm testing only with pendrive and the GOTEK powered with USB adapter. Not connected to the diskette original cable yet.

Re: Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
Ok. Have you tried another pen drive ?
And : Have you updated the device with the latest WIP firmware ? (the upd in the Next_WIP_Alpha_Firmware_And_Tools folder)
You may need to "clean" your usb stick before reformatting it.
Use the command line tool "diskpart" to clear the stick :
http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/e ... Q/005929en
and then just reformat it.

Latest firmware flashed. Cleaned stick via DISKPART. Tried other stick.
Nothing...
I'm waiting for an OLED screen, so if I can't test with indexed mode, I will test in normal mode when it arrives.
EDIT: Reflashed again with HXCFEUSB_V3_1_0_4a.UPD and in the same stick indexed HXCSDFE.CFG and DSKA0000.HFE and DSKA0001.HFE
Flashes finished and 000 appears, and I can select 000 and 001. Clavinova not show anything on Disk Orchestra panel (like no diskette is present).
Power down Clavinona and... AGAIN HxC! Can't load anything.
Maybe some jumper wrong configuration?
Re: Yamaha Clavinova and Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL
Good , normal behavior.
No this sound like there is something wrong with the drive itself or with the usb stick. Sound like there is a bad contact/solder somewhere. Something with the usb path for sure.
The only needed jumper is S0 or S1. Nothing else. Remove all others jumpers.
