HxC on Gotek and ASR10 trouble

Post by balamutang »

got trouble with reflashed gotek on ASR10:
asr10 can load system from first image (dska0000.hfe) and load and save instruments from this image, but can't format this image ("file operation error")
when i copy this image to dska0001.hfe or to any other index name - i can't read-write insrument (got messages "drive not ready", "disk operation error") and can't format too.

trouble look simular like this http://torlus.com/floppy/forum/viewtopi ... 5572#p5572 but i test my USB sticks (3 different), average read speed 16mb/s, write speed 8mb/s, that close to SD class 10 speed.

I think it's safe to say the formatting is never going to work on the Gotek, regardless of USB drive.

Is the "drive not ready" error happening with every HFE in the DSKA0001.HFE slot, or just the ones that you've tried formatting and then copying?

If you have a DSKA0000.HFE that boots and loads/saves instruments and you copy that to DSKA0001.HFE (untouched) do you still get any errors (aside from formatting) on DSKA0001?

Firstly i take images set from https://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_driv ... Images.zip but rename all to indexes: asr353os.hfe to dska0000.hfe, disk_000.hfe to dska0001.hfe, asr-box8.hfe to dska0002.hfe, some my images convert to dska0003.hfe and dska0004.hfe and edit cfg to enable indexing mode

i made two instruments on dska0000.hfe, one small and one middle size (around 500kb), now dska0000.hfe have two insruments for next tests

when i got read/write errors on dska0001.hfe,dska0002.hfe,dska0003.hfe and dska0004.hfe images - i delete its and copy image dska0000.hfe to dska0001.hfe,dska0002.hfe,dska0003.hfe and dska0004.hfe and got same read/write errors on this images

hmm, i found what if i waited few seconds after switch images - read/write operations complete succesfully

now made last test - create and save biggest instrument on floppy image (asr 3141block) - operations complete succesfully :)
