Use with LeCroy Oscilloscopes
Use with LeCroy Oscilloscopes
Hello,
Has anyone tried this emulator in a LeCroy LT (WaveRunner 1 or 2), LC or 93Xx series oscilloscope?
These scopes use Citizen WD1 or X1DE series floppy drives (I have also heard that the Sony MFC930's will work (the bezel is 1mm too high so it has to be trimmed) both use a 26 pin FFC interface so that would require an adapter to be made for the physical difference. The 93XX scope floppy disk controllers use a 26pin male (2X13, 0.1inch spacing) header.
These instruments format floppies and write files that are IBM PC compatible on 1.44MB 3.5 inch floppy disks.
I have attached a zip file that contains information on the floppy drive and the interface as well as a schematic of the floppy disk controller used in the instrument. Note that the drives are thin (11mm) tall drives that are used in laptops and the like. Standard floppy drives will not fit.
If the HxC SD version could be made to work there would be a lot of users that would be interested in them.
The attached zip has information that I have worked out thus far and the LeCroy Floppy Controller schematic as well as the floppy drive information.

Re: Use with LeCroy Oscilloscopes
Should works without problem (with the 26 to 34 pin adaptor of course )
Re: Use with LeCroy Oscilloscopes

Hello,
does Lecroy oscilloscopes support supersized images (5.35Mb & 6.78Mb)?

Re: Use with LeCroy Oscilloscopes
hi, I am interested in trying this product on my DDA-125. I saw the product page here
https://lotharek.pl/productdetail.php?id=94
is that what I need for my DDA-125? don't I need an adapter ribbon cable ? I read somewhere here that DDA-125 uses 26pin while this product uses 34.
any suggestions please
thanks

Re: Use with LeCroy Oscilloscopes
The ZIF SD HxC Floppy use an 26 pins ZIF connector, so this should be fine. You may need some additional pull up resistors (3 * 1Ko 0805).N0AGI wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 10:31 am hi, I am interested in trying this product on my DDA-125. I saw the product page here

Re: Use with LeCroy Oscilloscopes
Hy @Jeff
The thre pull up, on witch pins? I bulid in a Lotharek SD Card simulation, it does not work, when i try to print or use the format funktion, the speeker rattels, a counter is conting and the the scope says "no medium inserted". Original config is a Citizen W1D Floppy. I have made a adapter, see picture... Thanks to the autor!!
I use a finished configuration for a 1,44MB Floppy

Re: Use with LeCroy Oscilloscopes
Hy, it is a LT224 Scope. I have a 34pin SD Interface with self made adapter.
Re: Use with LeCroy Oscilloscopes
ok got it.
then you may have to set/force some additional signals : /MEDIA SENSE.
Re: Use with LeCroy Oscilloscopes
Thanks, and which Pin connect to MEDIASENS?
Floppy CON, LT224
I cant find such a pin on the connector of the emulator.Floppy CON, LT224
Re: Use with LeCroy Oscilloscopes
try first to connect a switch between this signal and the ground.
