Problem with msdos image

Post by mau_rizio »

I've created an images for a msdos floppy.
When i try to copy files form the images to the hd, after some files i got an error like "error reading data from drive A - INT24 failed"

To create the image i used:
Create fs floppy
Selected 1.44MB MS DOS FAT12
Select the directory named pas16inst
Export

I'm making something wrong?

PS: Installation from the files copied to a real floppy disk is working.

Same problems under windows xp.

If i try to open an empty 1,44 image, after a long time reading sector 0 and 1, windows says "disk is not formatted. format it?"

Have you received my image, xxx.hfe?

Hi,

I have tried your HFE file, and there are no problem at with it.
What is your board revision ? B or C ?
Can you try another SDCard (another brand/model).

It's revision B.

I'm using SanDisk 4gb sdhc, tested two of them, same problem on both.
Then i tested a SanDisk 128Mb and a Nokia 1Gb both of them works well, reading and writing the images :)
But i'm sure i used the 4gb sd on the amiga and on the msx without any problem.
Unfortunatly i have not any other 4gb sd card to test, but there are known problems with certain sd cards?

There two possible cause for this issue:
let's try to correct the first one:

Add a 1800 ohms (1.8Kohms) resistor in parrallel of R28 (between pin 1 & 2 of U11 for example) to increase a little the sdcard voltage.

Can you do this ?
( you can find the schematic here : https://hxc2001.com/floppy_drive_emulat ... or_Kit.zip )

Yes, i think...
The pin1 of u11 is the one facing r30?
I can solder directly on u11 pins?

The rev. c has the same problem? If not, i can use the rev. c for the pc and the rev. b for the other systems :)

If you have the rev c, try it on the pc.
This issue is corrected on the rev c.

Don't work.

Perhapse is there a tool i can use to give you info about the sd card?
Soldering the 1,8kohm resistor would work?
Or i can send you the card, i you will send it back after the work :)
