Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
I don't. I'll flash that firmware this evenign and see what sector it fails on.
Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
I requested a custom firmware and it has this option enabled:
CONFIG_7SEGMENT_TRACKDISPLAY = yes
All I see is 000 on my GOtek hxc. The last digit flickers but it doesn't seem as though it's actually changing, just flickering 0.

Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
I'll be upgrading another non=HXC floppy emulator with i2c mod this evening hopefully, which I think also shows track information. I'll hopefully have better information soon.
Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
So this mean it fail on the track 0.
Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
i believe that's true. I'm unable to even execute a DIR command currently.
Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
Is this board supporting HD disks ?
Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
Aha no it's 720kb floppy support only
Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
PC drive ?
Well anyway the disk is not well imaged. The Apple II section has bad sectors :
It looks like the drive used to read this disk isn't really compatible with the 12uS Apple II timing. The drive's AGC is disturbed by these long timings : some false pulses generated... (this is the spots outside the 3 bands)
Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
Pc drive. Tandy 1000 720kb drive. The image was read with a kyroflux and works when written with kyroflux to new disk.
Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
I doubt that all the disk is working. Have you tried to read the Apple II tracks ?
Anyway if this is a real PC drive, you need to change the interface mode to PC DD on the emulator.

Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
I have no idea if theres even data in the apple 2 sections.
So I didn't know anything about a dd mode on these devices; what does that affect?

Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
Changing to DD fixed it! Running like a champ, passed copy protection check and lets me enter apple emulation mode.
Next thing to try is emulating an apple prove disk inserted into the pc floppy drive

Re: Does GoTek support copy-protected HFE images?
VERY promising start, Jeff!
The copy protected Trackstar application floppy works flawlessly, and I was able to boot into a converted Apple disk image with no problems at all!
Uncertain about disk write support currently. We'll see.
