Converting KryoFlux Stream files into HFE

Post by comradesean » Tue Mar 24, 2015 3:55 pm

I've got KryoFlux stream files of a 360kb 40 track 2 sided 5.25'' disk containing 84 tracks of magnetic data and I'm trying to convert them into an HFE or AMI image, but every time I do I get an incorrectly sized image. I've attempted manually removing the empty tracks from the folder until I only have the 40 tracks of data, but no matter what I do I cannot recreate a 360kb disk image with the HxCFloppyEmulator conversion process. Do I need to redump my disk? Am I missing a step in the converter? Or is this just not supported?

Hi,

Can you export the stream import to the AFI format and share it ?

I followed your advice in the other reply and downloaded the latest beta to redump. (the progress bar makes a huge difference).

Unfortunately, I'm still getting an overdump. [370 KB (379,392 bytes)]

No no there is no overdump, just a protected track with 1KB sectors (track 6 side 0) :

I'm basically trying to convert the AFI into HFE and then load the image with VFD_HXC that I downloaded from here , but it crashes whenever I attempt to load the image. Is this supported?

Sure it is not : VFD is not designed at all to support this kind of protected format !
