Hi,
I have an old Rev B of the HxC Floppy Emulator after I have repair a trace to SW1 and check other trace to the switches it seams finally to work as it should.
My question is how can I make save games floppies?
I have read that Rev B of it should have done some modification to support amiga save - that is excatly what I want to.
I have try on for instances to Sensible World of Soccer 96/97 version.
I know floppyname is SWOSU can I format it self without the modification of the rev B?
I have try create an empty disk, with HxCFloppyEmulator.exe software but it looks that is not working.

I don't understand what you are trying to do.TTD wrote:Hi,

To save on Amiga : Rev C or Rev B + mod
To create an empty disk or save game : ADFOpus, WinUAE, HxCFloppyEmulator...

Ok then I don't understand how I can mod my Rev B board so I can do thisJeff wrote:I don't understand what you are trying to do.TTD wrote:Hi,

Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Rev B on Amiga
22/08/2010: Firmware SD HxCFloppyEmulator v1.3.0.0
- Amiga Write support added :
Note to the Revision B PCB owners :
To activate this new features you need to add a Microchip 23K256 SPI SRAM chip and 4 resistors.
The connection to do is :
23K256 pin 1 -> 220ohms resistor -> PIC18F4620 pin 22
23K256 pin 5 -> 220ohms resistor -> PIC18F4620 pin 27
23K256 pin 6 -> 220ohms resistor -> PIC18F4620 pin 28
23K256 pin 2 -> 220ohms resistor -> PIC18F4620 pin 29
23K256 pin 8 & 7 -> VCC3.3V (this voltage can be found at the capacitor under the sdcard connector or at the output of the regulator)
23K256 pin 4 -> GND
23K256 pin 3 -> Not connected.
(a 100nF capacitor is also recommended at the pin 8 of the 23K256)
Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Rev B on Amiga
Hi Jeff, thanks for the reply to mod the rev B of HxC, but GND signal from where, can I use it from the power connector from floppy (Black wire)?
The recommend 100nF capacitor what volt rating, can I use electrolytic or what kind should it be can I use non SMD components, if so which should it be?
Next problem, I got is where can I get the Microchip 23K256 SPI SRAM, is there others chip that does the same, and should it be a SMD or could other do?
The only think I got is 4 of 220 Ohms non SMD components. (If that is good eough)
Hope I can get some confirm my knowledge to electronic parts is very limited.

Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Rev B on Amiga
An electrolytic capacitor is fine, you need 3.3V or more. Doesn't need to be SMD.
GND on the power connector is ok, you can also find it at a lot other places.
It looks like 23K256 has a DIP (through hole) version that you can use.
So it shouldn't be too hard to solder all of this together...

Thanks alot pulkomandy for your reply, now I just want to try find that chip in my country.pulkomandy wrote:An electrolytic capacitor is fine, you need 3.3V or more. Doesn't need to be SMD.
