Hi Jeff & everyone !
I'm looking for a way to boot by default to the Workbench. I own an A1200 + HxC Slim + CF-IDE disk drive (+ Indi & Blizzard).
I tried to modify all settings that seemed relevant - disabling autoboot, ejecting the disk by default, stuff like that. None of those worked. Tried from both the settings from the selector and the settings in HxCFloppyEmulator program on Linux.
(Also I noticed some settings didn't seem to be applied, like the volume of the drive motor)
Is there a supported way for my use case ? (booting by default onto the WB, and using the HxC selector from the WB once in a while when I want to play floppy games / demos) ?
Or, may I just eject the SD of the HxC ? (if that's a supported way) ? It works but do you advise this ? (oh, I need to install a noclick patch
Thanks a lot
Proper way of booting to HD by default ? Ejecting the SD ?!
Re: Proper way of booting to HD by default ? Ejecting the SD ?!
Yes that's fine.
Have you tried to use a not bootable image ?

Hi !
Yep, sure, it does behave properly when inserting a non-bootable floppy ! So there are 2 ways of doing this.
Thanks a lot
Edit : may I insert the SD at any time or before powering on ?

any time. Just avoid to eject the sdcard during a write operation.
