Problem with OLED and Gotek

Post by dougal »

Hi, I correctly installed an OLED in my Gotek using latest HxC firmware.

The ONLY way the display will work is just after initiating the upgrade process (on + hold both buttons) and then everything works fine, I can see the image files, select through them and even go in settings in the OLED. Resets work fine too.

The issue is when I turn off the Amiga and back on again the Gotek will work BUT the OLED will not work at all unless I initiate the update again.

What is wrong ?

This is an issue with the screen reset signal. The R-C circuit of this screen is probably too slow.
Can you send me a picture of this OLED screen (pcb side) ?
I will add a latency setting in the firmware to deal with these slow screens, probably late in the afternoon.

If I hit the reset jumper on the Gotek board the OLED switches on

If you want to try the power up delay feature :

https://hxc2001.com/vrac/HxCUSBFE.UPD

Update the firmware, once done remove the usb stick and press both buttons to enter the setting menu.
you should find an "Power up delay" entry. Enter it and select "1s" for a first try.
then exit the main menu.
After you can power cycle the amiga and let me know if the screen init is ok at power up.

By default menu items are automatically selected after 4 seconds. No need to add the select button.

please keep in mind that this firmware is a "work in progress" firmware and have probably lots of regressions since i have done important changes. So you may have others issues since i haven't tested it on Amiga yet ;).

Sorry there is not that option - The FW is v3.0.33.12a

There was AUTOSELECT which was 4s which I changed to 1s but it didnt make a difference to the OLED

Yes it saves the settings even after reset. Just to let you know the new fw's you made have other issues, the last one you sent me autoboot.hfe works but the other disk images do not and the one before not even autoboot.hfe loads. The other fw's 3.0.33.12a which are in the file section as normal load autoboot and disk images fine

I dont know about pull resistors
