Hey,
I have an external floppy drive adapter and I'm connecting a Hxc to it: http://amigastore.eu/en/440-amiga-exter ... er-m1.html
When I do this the Amiga 500s internal drive no longer functions or makes any sounds. I guess this is a motor on signal problem?
I've tried various jumper settings on the Hxc, for drive A as DF1, DF0 etc and I've set the Hxc to single drive mode but nothing has made a difference so far.
Anyone know what jumper settings and Hxc settings I need to allow the real DF0 to work?
P.S. If I turn on with everything connected except the Hxc's ribbon cable DF0 works fine.
DF0 not working when Hxc connected as DF1
Re: DF0 not working when Hxc connected as DF1
are you connecting the floppy ribbon to the right way ?
Re: DF0 not working when Hxc connected as DF1
Hey Jeff,
The ribbon cable from the external adapter is notched such that I can't plug it into the HxC in reverse (with the red stripe on the opposite side)
Anyway I can test or tell whether that's the problem with trying to break apart plastic?

Re: DF0 not working when Hxc connected as DF1
Hey Jeff,
You were right!
I took a file to the plastic notch on the ribbon cable that was soldered to the external adapter.
Once that was low enough I was able to force it into the HxC reversed.
After that both the internal DF0 and the external HxC as DF1 worked.
Thanks for you help
