Amiga 1200 & FloppyEmulatorManager

Post by h1ghjuce »

I'm having an issue with trying to use the FloppyEmulatorManager (AutoBoot.HFE)
on an A1200 using the HxC STM32 FW (v3.0.8.2a)

It boots the menu, and I've assigned 3 IPF files to the 1st 3 slots
001 Turrican2.ipf
002 Turrican.ipf
003 IK+.ipf

when I save and reboot, I assume thats the time its supposed to boot into slot 001?
It boots right back into the menu again (with the slot assignements set)

I've tried changing the settings (which dont seem to be documented anywhere apart
from whats on screen)
but nothing seems to change the behavior

am I missing something?

thanks

You have to convert the .ipf images to .hfe. Place the CapsImg.dll in the same dir as HxCFloppyEmulator.exe

Ah ok, so the list of compatible file formats is only for the convert/read tool for win/OSx

and not what the hardware device can read?

is there an exception for ADF that it can read those and HFE right?

I'm must be going blind. I just re-read your first post and saw that you are using a Goatek with HXC firmware. I assumed (wrongly) that you were using the more superior HXC.

I don't think the Goatek can load .ipf's. Adf's are O.K though.

I've since learned that you can use .hfe format for ipf, eadf, adz and also adf's that wont load properly on a goatek.

(Thanks for the info Jeff :))

And next you must learn that the name is "Gotek" and not "Goatek".

Yeah, I know how it's spelt. I had one, it's crap, so to me, it's "Goat Tech"

Ah, okay. You mean "GOAT" for "Greatest Of All Time" didn't you? *lol* :)

By the way, I also have one and a HxC (Rev C) too. I like the HxC-hardware more, because it can emulate two drives and comes from the beginning on with the nice LCD-display. But i also like my Gotek. For me it`s not crap. Especially not for that cheap price. Tastes differ.
