I can select a HFE file, but nothing changes

Hi,
I've connected the HxC Rev F to my Amiga 500, copied the CFG file and two HFE discs on the root of the SD card.
When I power the Amiga on, I can select the HFE files from the small display and when I do, I can read:
RA T:000/084 S:0

But that's it. Nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?

I've tried the same with the autoboot.hfe file - nothing

I'm assuming the connection between Amiga and HxC is just not working?
I've changed nothing on the device and I believe the Amiga Floppy Cable is only fitting one way? Should I try to turn it around?
Is there any good troubleshooting guide out there?

Any help appreciated, getting a bit frustrated.

Yep. Turned the cable the other way. Works.
