spatial hyperdrive no works in HxC?

Post by androidde »

Hi, I have two friends 500 both with extension 512 by trampdoor, a real drive and the other with a HxC, the game runs me perfect real floppy, and HxC load but hangs just before starting the game.

I tested four adf images in real floppy all work, and the HxC pass all the same thing crashing right at the beginning.

it is due? the game requires 1MB chip but my friend with floppy works perfect, I do not understand what happens.,regards

Tried here in normal HFE without any single problem.

Since you give me no details about your setup here are mines :

Amiga : Amiga 500 (Rev 6A motherboard) with 1MB of chip RAM (512KB in trapdoor).

HxC Firmware : 1.8.6.14a (https://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_driv ... rmware.zip)

Setting : HxC as DF0.
(PC twisted floppy ribbon -> Switch set to ID3A (4) (see picture). With a straight floppy ribbon should be set to ID0A (1) )

You don't give me any details about the used image so i have tried this one :

"Spatial Hyperdrive (1993)(TNGA).zip"
http://www.planetemu.net/rom/commodore- ... -1993-tnga
spatial_hyperdrive_hxc.jpg
spatial_hyperdrive_hxc.jpg (130.67 KiB) Viewed 5661 times
NOTE 1: Some games need to be on DF0 to work.

NOTE 2: Some games need to have all the other drive disabled to have the maximum free memory possible.

NOTE 3: Becareful with these old Amiga viruses : There are a lot of them on these ADF files, and one may have contaminated the HxC autoboot.hfe image and the other HFE file on the SD. To be sure redownload a fresh one to your SD : https://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_driv ... anager.zip.
Viruses may generate such strange behaviors/crash.

Firstly thanks for your help, I have the HxC in DF0, I've tried about five adf images of the game, I formatted the sd, several times I installed the manager, but you works for you with 1MB chip + 512 on the tramp, I just I chip 512 + 512 tramp, so I gather that the emulator will consume a bit of RAM and so I did not load the game is very tight ram, as you point out, there are games that need enough ram released. Because I work in real floppy and not in the emulator? , The drive itself does not consume or consume less ram ram the emulator and therefore there if I work. Thanks again,

PS: I have to catch me one extension

No : I have 512KB + 512KB = 1MB in total and nothing more.
I still don't see your setup. Where is the picture ?

Just disable DF1: in setup and it works perfectly.
