Problem with ONE image disk

Post by huggyone76 »

Hello,
I'm just trying to run the demo "Day Of Reckoning" on my A500 with my HxC.
I found some disk images of the demo, for example here :

http://cyberpingui.free.fr/dl.php?id=231

The disk image is perfectly read under WinUAE.
I tried to make a HFE file with HxC Floppy soft (load the image, export) and ADFOpus. I wrote the HFE file on my SD Card (even after a fresh format). My A500 boot and run the demo... But after a few seconds, the HxC "turns" around track 50 to 54 really slowly and nothing happen...
No problem with others demos, games, softwares... only this demo (I didn't try ALL the disks, but that's the first time I have this problem since months !).
Is someone can try on his own HxC please or help me to find a solution ?
I've got the last firmware (no beta version), the last software.
Thank you.

try the beta firmware and try to use the "rev 2" hfe file format.

Thank you for your answer.
So, I tried with the beta firmware and the "rev 2" hfe file format.
That's "better" because the demo started and run for approximatively 90 seconds and... crash, always at the same moment (but that's better than the previous tests).
Other ideas ?

Thank you.

Thank you Jeff !
The floppy disk seems very "special". When the A500 read this, the sound is... special ! Even with different floppies or floppy drives... And no problem with other floppies.

Tried here and no crash. (A500 / 1MB / Last beta version / Rev2 HFE)

What is your jumper setting ?

I'm in this configuration, Amiga, no twisted floppy cable :

I'm going to try with only Drive A.

Thank you.

OMG !!!!
I found... So sorry you lose time with that ! :( That's simply that my floppy cable IS twisted !!! So my jumpers were not at the right place ! :(

So... Good news... Day of Reckoning work PERFECTLY well on the HxC Floppy ! ;) What a shame... SORRY ! And thank you for your help.

Regards,

Hugues.
