Korg I3 Floppy drive replacement

Hi I have installed a Gotek SFR1M44-U100K in a Korg 13 Keyboard the FDD was not working. I have tried with some frustration to get it operational
The keyboard will not read the disk
The jumper is in the correct position S0 ( I believe )
Formated the USB with HxC software (100 x 1.4 FD)
Formated using the Gotek
I have tried a couple of jumper positions but with no change, the keyboard error is "Can not read the disk" or "No disk in the drive". I can't believe this can be this difficult.
After searching the web it looks like there is no specific simple instruction manual to make this work.
I am considering sending this unit back and sourcing a second-hand FFD unless some kind member can steer me in the right direction.
