I wanted to dump some midi files onto some blank disks, which I found in the QuickInstall_FloppyDiskImages.zip and use with my Kawai Q-80. (Similar to the video linked below)
Procedure:
1. I open my HxC Floppy Emulator Software.
2. Click on load and choose my blank disk from the QuickInstall_FloppyDiskImages.zip
3. I then click on Disk-Browser and get the error "Null sized DOS image ! Invalid disk !"
4. Here I would dump my .mid file into the disk-browser and click on export and save on USB stick
5. Take usb stick and load .SMF (.Mid) on the Kawai Q80
Question
What am I missing above to be able to do step 4 and 5?
How this would have been done with a real floppy drive:

Kawai Q80 - Null sized DOS image ! Invalid disk ! error
Re: Kawai Q80 - Null sized DOS image ! Invalid disk ! error
The Q80 doesn't use/write the boot sector during the formatting but the pc & the hxc tool need it. Try to use 720KB PC HFE and force the interface mode to shugart on the emulator.teevee wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 4:56 pmI wanted to dump some midi files onto some blank disks, which I found in the QuickInstall_FloppyDiskImages.zip and use with my Kawai Q-80. Btw a question : Why you haven't installed the HxC firmware on this Q80 gotek ?
Re: Kawai Q80 - Null sized DOS image ! Invalid disk ! error
Disregard, Kawai Q80 cannot read SMF files, which is one of the difference between Q80 and Q80EX.Jeff wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 5:27 pmThe Q80 doesn't use/write the boot sector during the formatting but the pc & the hxc tool need it.
